setting
Index was once a small and close-knit community, but the town located on the western side of Washington state has grown in recent years beyond anyone's expectations. It is the ideal place for those who work in Seattle but can't afford the city's high real estate prices, and for others the natural beauty attracts them to the town. And Index truly is a beautiful place - surrounded by thick evergreen trees, tall mountains and glistening rivers and lakes. While weather is typically rainy with overcast skies even this does nothing to take away from the beauty of the town, and it is only highlighted further when the heavy snow graces the town and caps the mountains in winter. To many, Index would seem like a paradise. And yet lurking beneath this visual beauty there is more to this town than anyone might ever imagine...

Current Time in Index, Washington:
rules
PLAYBYS: Sims from the games Sims 2, 3 and 4 are used to visually represent player’s original characters (no characters from within the franchise are allowed). But, you do not need these games to join and roleplay! If you wish, you can post a thread in our out of character / general forum and list as many physical details about your character as you wish. The members of Index will happily try and make a character for you, and you can choose which one you feel best fits your vision.

AVATARS: Avatars should display your characters face clearly and should be at least 200 pixels tall, and 200 pixels wide.

THREADING & POSTING: When threading with multiple characters, it is important that you post only when it is your turn. This can be acheived by taking note of who has posted before you, and remember you are to always post after them. If you were the thread starter, then it is your turn after the final person has joined your thread.

When creating a thread you are required to place a tag before the title. Here are a list of types of thread you can create and how to tag each one:

[Open] Anyone is welcome to join your thread, with no limit on the number of characters.
[Open - #] Anyone is welcome to join your thread, but there is a limit on the number of characters who can join. Replace the # with how many extra characters you will allow to join your thread.
[Private] Only specific characters can join your thread.
[Closed] This tag should be used for threads that only involve your character.

ACTIVITY: To keep threads moving, people are encouraged to post within three days when it is their turn. If you do not post within three days, and you have not asked people to wait for you, it is possible you will be skipped. Keep in mind this is just a suggestion. While we'd love for everyone to be active every day, we understand that real life and other hobbies are just as important, if not more. We want you to be active because you want to be, not because a rule is telling you to be.

MATURITY RATING: Public threads should all be PG. If roleplayers above the age of 18 wish to post content that could be could be considered graphic then it should be hidden from view using the [hide] [/hide] code, which will enable only those in the threads and administrators to view the content.

Narrative is the Demon Lilith

“Afraid to die?” I stood over the body of the White Wolf. Lilith. My sweet little pet. She was a sight to behold now. How peculiar that this should happen at this time. Right at this moment. I knew she couldn’t see me. Nor hear me now. The Vampire blood had begun to take full hold of her functions. The use of her ability was pointless. All time would lead back to the same moment. Inevitable death. “I have beautiful news for you Lilith. While you serve me you will be immortal.” I bent down so I could whisper the words directly into her ear. Could she be tempted? Had I been going about this the wrong way? Daron Wynyard had been easily swayed with promises I didn't intend to keep. Could the Wolf be the same?

Lilith Alysbury | Wolf; Warlord/Battlelord

This time I didn’t move my head. I let it lay to the side. It didn’t matter. I got extra minutes. A few fleeting seconds before my mouth began to fill with more blood than the lazy lilt could filter. Beginning to drown again in my own fluids I couldn’t control the second time shift.

Or the third.

Or the fourth.

Or the fifth.

Or the sixth. Experiencing the tip of death each and every single time.

“You’re not coming back from this one. So you should stay here for as long as possible.” This was ridiculous. I’d seen the same segment of time repeat over and over again. My Wolf named counterpart longed for death. She was ruled by the possibility of being with her beloved Ancestors. My eyes drifted down to the scar upon her chest. Now that I understood what it meant I knew that I’d made a mistake in choosing her. On the other hand now knowing who she represented made this all the sweeter. “Your hourglass has run out and you have no more spins left Lilith. Time for one last dream.” I reached down to place my palm over her forehead. Pulling her eyelids back with my fingernails.

Lilith Alysbury | Wolf; Warlord/Battlelord

The cage was quiet. Rasping, burbling breathing had ceased. The Wolf in the center of her prison completely still. Her eyes were open though clouded over with the gaze of someone who had been dead for much longer than she had.

This is a dreamsequence experienced right before death.

There was something about this place. I knew why One Shot felt familiar. Felt right. It reminded me very clearly of the Dominions pack owned bar. This was something different. I tilted my head back to breathe in the smell of the forest. It came from the wood. From the usual occupant. The slight hint of cigarette smoke on air. Music played from the stereo. Sound that I bet even rose to the top of the high ceiling. Just needed to string some strobes up and shit Vin’s pad would make a perfect personal nightclub. A perfect blend of two worlds I loved.

Just ask to move back in. Or just pretend you were on holiday and never actually left, sugar. Her voice. How did I not notice the smell of violet? Mixed in with that of the Alpha. My Alpha. “You know I can’t do that.” Tears rolled down my cheeks. Sona. She was here. Did that mean? “We’re both dead aren’t we?” I turned to face her almost crumbling with despair and relief. Her glowing smile. Bottle red hair that always looked a little frazzled. Odd strands tangled about with twine and various other trinkets she had found interesting. Always such a Debbie Luxx. I’ve just finally found a way to reach you. Lurching toward her I wrapped my arms around her waist and planted a kiss right on her lips. For a moment it seemed like she was surprised.

“You have no idea how glad I am that you aren’t dead. Everyone is dying. I have to make it stop.” I devoured her eyes with mine and then realized what I was doing, moving back. “I’m dying. It’s for the best. If I’m dead they are all safe. You’re safe.” Sona frowned and looked around the room. The Ancestors work in mysterious ways. I respect them deeply but I  can’t stand by and allow them to watch you stumble. For the first time, I had a strange feeling that this wasn’t right. Not the recollection of Onyx's home but Sona in it. Was hard to really focus on what felt wrong. My gaze instead following hers. Pausing on the wood burner which was alight. Stopping on the old trusty liquor shelf seeing one bottle there which was actually mine. Black Cherry imported Russian Vodka. It peaked from behind countless other bottles mostly whiskey’s. You’re not going to die Luxx, dear. You have a job to do. Protect the Alpha.

Still listening to Sona I ran a hand along the wall. Tracing an imaginary image. Fulfilling your prophecy is important. “Is it? I’m a member of Reprisal. I’m a pack Wolf Sona and it feels…” I stopped not actually knowing how to truthfully finish the sentence. Every explanation felt like a lie somehow. Sona tilted her head in a sharp way. Narrowing her eyes. An expression I didn’t know I’d ever seen on her. If you give up here then both he and I die. Do you think the doors will open to a lazy coward? Sona. Shelley Cook. Strode towards me as I stood there dumbfounded. Fingertips still stuck to the wall I had been stroking. All is lost if you deny how you feel about Vincent Byrne. Cracks began to form underneath my hand. Small. Like veins stretching from my fingertips. Snapping up the wall, become larger. Splintering off into other channels. Just listen to Lilith she will show you the way.

The utterance of that name. It didn’t properly register as the items in the room had begun to violently float. As if gravity had lost all hold on this place. Parts of the roof were shattering off. Debris spinning about the room in a slow motion dance. Not a single fragment of dust touching either of us. You will not die until you’ve done what the Ancestors asked of you. Shelley's voice was slightly distorted. Not quite her own but I couldn’t drag my eyes away from the disintegrating house. Watching bottles explode in a shower of glass and deep liquid ombre. Feeling the foundations under my feet fail. A fissure appearing in quick succession attempting to cut me off from the only exit. LUXX! Onyx angrily bellowed to me from somewhere outside. Go to him. Do what you’re meant to do. I ran directly for the back door. Having to leap over the edge of the chasm to make it outside into the open.
