setting
Index was once a small and close-knit community, but the town located on the western side of Washington state has grown in recent years beyond anyone's expectations. It is the ideal place for those who work in Seattle but can't afford the city's high real estate prices, and for others the natural beauty attracts them to the town. And Index truly is a beautiful place - surrounded by thick evergreen trees, tall mountains and glistening rivers and lakes. While weather is typically rainy with overcast skies even this does nothing to take away from the beauty of the town, and it is only highlighted further when the heavy snow graces the town and caps the mountains in winter. To many, Index would seem like a paradise. And yet lurking beneath this visual beauty there is more to this town than anyone might ever imagine...

Current Time in Index, Washington:
rules
PLAYBYS: Sims from the games Sims 2, 3 and 4 are used to visually represent player’s original characters (no characters from within the franchise are allowed). But, you do not need these games to join and roleplay! If you wish, you can post a thread in our out of character / general forum and list as many physical details about your character as you wish. The members of Index will happily try and make a character for you, and you can choose which one you feel best fits your vision.

AVATARS: Avatars should display your characters face clearly and should be at least 200 pixels tall, and 200 pixels wide.

THREADING & POSTING: When threading with multiple characters, it is important that you post only when it is your turn. This can be acheived by taking note of who has posted before you, and remember you are to always post after them. If you were the thread starter, then it is your turn after the final person has joined your thread.

When creating a thread you are required to place a tag before the title. Here are a list of types of thread you can create and how to tag each one:

[Open] Anyone is welcome to join your thread, with no limit on the number of characters.
[Open - #] Anyone is welcome to join your thread, but there is a limit on the number of characters who can join. Replace the # with how many extra characters you will allow to join your thread.
[Private] Only specific characters can join your thread.
[Closed] This tag should be used for threads that only involve your character.

ACTIVITY: To keep threads moving, people are encouraged to post within three days when it is their turn. If you do not post within three days, and you have not asked people to wait for you, it is possible you will be skipped. Keep in mind this is just a suggestion. While we'd love for everyone to be active every day, we understand that real life and other hobbies are just as important, if not more. We want you to be active because you want to be, not because a rule is telling you to be.

MATURITY RATING: Public threads should all be PG. If roleplayers above the age of 18 wish to post content that could be could be considered graphic then it should be hidden from view using the [hide] [/hide] code, which will enable only those in the threads and administrators to view the content.

Thread Details
Bubbles Laundromat | Pouring with Rain | 3am

Timelined after the Bonfire but before Cheap Thrills and Snowball Bumblebee Bazooka

The fluorescent lights of the laundromat glowed warmly in the gloom of a heavy rainstorm. Winter was coming and the nights were becoming colder. In an effort to avoid Onyx I’d come to do my laundry at three o’clock in the morning. It was dead quiet aside from the hum of a synthetic tube that was on its last legs. I was flicking through images on my phone with a grim look on my face when a shadow was cast over the doorway. I knew who it was before I even looked at her. “Decided to finally show your face instead of just following me huh?” Camille stepped fully into the light, sliding back a hood glistening with rain and I continued folding my clothes like I wasn’t terrified to have this conversation. “It’s not like I was trying to keep it a secret, you do know I’m not the only one right?” No. No I hadn’t known I was being stalked by multiple people. Camille hadn’t been hiding herself. “Do the Vampires following you have anything to do with your current addiction?”

She confirmed it for me so bluntly. Pausing in the middle of gathering up my underwear I shrugged my shoulders. “Maybe.” I had no fucking clue. The fact I seemed so nonchalant had a negative reaction. Camille growled softly in her throat and her white eyes came to life. I so wanted to ask her how she had got them but I knew given the circumstances, it was not going to be a fun topic to touch on. “Jonah and I always pegged you for a lunatic Luxx, but you know…..you know your killing yourself yes?” I just nodded slowly putting the last of my clean, folded clothes into my basket. “Why? Why are you doing it?”

“I have the best of intentions.” There was no way to tell if she was speaking truth or lies. I’d been conflicted since meeting her. Was she a good person or not? Why was it so hard to tell? I wanted to believe her words but there was no way I ever could. “It’s only hurting me so what does it matter? I’ve….as lame as this sounds, I’ve pledged myself as a Warlord to Onyx, I’m fighting with everything I have left.” I watched as she lifted a bottle of vodka off the floor. I thought I’d smelt liquor in here. She was drunk and while doing her laundry. Luxx was a Wild Card and gambling in a time like this was too much of a risk.

“You have no intentions of detoxing then?” It sounded as if she had reached the end. Suicide didn’t seem right for a wolf that always seemed to put herself number one. Who had acid on her tongue. That had a problem with being forthright. It wasn’t the whole truth, it couldn’t be. She would kill herself to fight for a pack she didn’t even belong to? “Ever heard of anyone doing that successfully?” “So you’re just a coward.” Laughing under my breath her expression instantly dissolved into that of rage.

“Fuck you Camille, keep your shrink routine to your fucking self. I’ve thought about it, I have.” I stopped swallowing a ball of fear in my throat. I knew how I was going to die and it wasn’t during withdrawals from Fanger juice but that didn’t mean if I tried, that I would survive. I’d fucked prophecies before by not doing what I was supposed to. “But if I die then I can’t fight can I? The blood just gives me a time limit.” I was running a gauntlet now I knew that, it was only a matter of time before I was slammed off course with sickness. “I can’t allow you anywhere near Onyx if you don’t get off the blood Luxx.” Jonah appeared behind her his own white eyes glowing. Now I knew what this was. An old fashioned murder. They hadn’t come to talk out and agreement. They had come to one.

“You scared I’m gonna get him on the junk or something? Fuck, you’re the fucking nuts one.” I backed up against the washing machine behind me as they circled in front of me. “Shut-up, you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into.” Jonah who was normally the quiet one growled at me. They were fucking serious. They were going to kill me right now. Holding up my hands I actually tried to reason with them. Two Alphas. No way. “I swear, that I won’t interfere, I’m just here to get revenge.” “Wrong answer.” Both of them began to turn and my eyes widened. No fucks were given for destruction obviously. They wanted me dead that badly.

“Prophecy!” Luxx shouted the word just as Jonah and I began to turn. Reverting back to human form I curiously tilted my head. I’d heard from others that she was dedicated to the spiritual. Odd for a Lone who would have to seek the help of packs to actually speak to them. “What about it?” She looked defeated and took a very long, exaggerate drink from her vodka bottle. “Mine….I have to protect Onyx the Ancestors demand it.” My face softened as she awkwardly stood there in such a mundane setting. A Lone forced to do her laundry late at night, in a rundown part of town. I knew she couldn’t be trusted and I would continue to keep my eye on her but she would be an asset on the battleground. It was going to come to war and that’s what else was a Warlord good for, other than the act of fighting for others.

“Times are bad so I’m going to show some kindness and leave you be.” “We’ll be watching.” Jonah slipped out of the door first and I stepped back towards it keeping my white glowing eyes locked on the Lone Wolf. “Get off the blood Luxx, this is the last warning I’m giving you, if you don’t…the next time we see each other, I won’t bother with pleasantries.”
