setting
Index was once a small and close-knit community, but the town located on the western side of Washington state has grown in recent years beyond anyone's expectations. It is the ideal place for those who work in Seattle but can't afford the city's high real estate prices, and for others the natural beauty attracts them to the town. And Index truly is a beautiful place - surrounded by thick evergreen trees, tall mountains and glistening rivers and lakes. While weather is typically rainy with overcast skies even this does nothing to take away from the beauty of the town, and it is only highlighted further when the heavy snow graces the town and caps the mountains in winter. To many, Index would seem like a paradise. And yet lurking beneath this visual beauty there is more to this town than anyone might ever imagine...

Current Time in Index, Washington:
rules
PLAYBYS: Sims from the games Sims 2, 3 and 4 are used to visually represent player’s original characters (no characters from within the franchise are allowed). But, you do not need these games to join and roleplay! If you wish, you can post a thread in our out of character / general forum and list as many physical details about your character as you wish. The members of Index will happily try and make a character for you, and you can choose which one you feel best fits your vision.

AVATARS: Avatars should display your characters face clearly and should be at least 200 pixels tall, and 200 pixels wide.

THREADING & POSTING: When threading with multiple characters, it is important that you post only when it is your turn. This can be acheived by taking note of who has posted before you, and remember you are to always post after them. If you were the thread starter, then it is your turn after the final person has joined your thread.

When creating a thread you are required to place a tag before the title. Here are a list of types of thread you can create and how to tag each one:

[Open] Anyone is welcome to join your thread, with no limit on the number of characters.
[Open - #] Anyone is welcome to join your thread, but there is a limit on the number of characters who can join. Replace the # with how many extra characters you will allow to join your thread.
[Private] Only specific characters can join your thread.
[Closed] This tag should be used for threads that only involve your character.

ACTIVITY: To keep threads moving, people are encouraged to post within three days when it is their turn. If you do not post within three days, and you have not asked people to wait for you, it is possible you will be skipped. Keep in mind this is just a suggestion. While we'd love for everyone to be active every day, we understand that real life and other hobbies are just as important, if not more. We want you to be active because you want to be, not because a rule is telling you to be.

MATURITY RATING: Public threads should all be PG. If roleplayers above the age of 18 wish to post content that could be could be considered graphic then it should be hidden from view using the [hide] [/hide] code, which will enable only those in the threads and administrators to view the content.

Thread Details

Hospital back door | 01:12 AM | Freakin' cold but dry

The cold air greeted me as the hospital doors behind me closed. My all black suit was enough to protect me from the elements. I could stand here naked, wouldn't really matter. Of course I felt the difference between hot or cold, but it never bothered me in any way. Except fire. Fuck fire.

I had just placed my regular order of blood with the night nurse I so kindly compelled. Hugo would pick it up later that day. I felt hungry, however, so I decided to take one myself. Gwen was fast asleep at home and I hadn't tried to wake her, I didn't want her to see me throw back a whole blood pack. Not yet anyway. I rarely fed on humans anymore. It took some time getting used to, but if that meant staying off the AOG's radar, it was worth it.

My teeth clicked into place when I ripped open the blood pack, and within seconds it's crimson contents were already making their way past my lips.

Besides Gayle, there was really only one other person I was looking forward to seeing when I returned to this town. Our friendship was worth rekindling. I believe the last time him and I shared a meal together it was a few years into my isolation. I was sent out to retrieve some intel for them, it was the first time they had allowed me to leave with no supervision. But it wasn't like I was ever going to defy them, there was still a prize to be won. And I fully intended on winning that prize.

If he was still dedicated to his precious little blood bags, I knew exactly where to look for my dear friend. So that was how I ended up on the roof of the hospital. I was always for making a grand entrance, and heights seemed to be my favorite. I stood there on the ledge with my hands tucked in my pockets as the cool breeze brushed my face. Right below my feet was the back door and I figured he would be walking out in any minute. And my thoughts were precise.

You know by the time you had to walk through those doors, place your order for those beloved blood bags, and then walk back out to actually suck one down, you could've claimed the necks of three delicious humans. I spoke in a normal tone knowing his hearing would read me perfectly. I stepped forward, feeling the air crash against my skin, and landed just a few feet from him, all with a wide smirk across my face.  Nice suit. I wonder who blessed you with such impeccable sense of style.

I heard feet shuffle right before he landed before me, just a few feet away. I wasn't startled, however. It was hard to startle me at this age. I faked a small disappointed sigh. Why the hell are you back already? Can't I just have one city for myself?. I discarded the empty blood pack in a nearby trashcan, ignoring his statement about my food of choice altogether. I should have guessed you would return to this city any time now. How long has it been?

When he mentioned my style I smirked. Ah, yes. I think I myself was the source of that blessing, Kyle. Us kindred have two options; either have some interest in fashion, or none at all. The second choice makes it a lot harder to function properly in this world. I hid my curiosity, but I was wondering where he had been all that time. At the time I knew he would be gone for a while, but what he was doing and where he was doing it was a complete mystery. I didn't consider a lot of other vampires my friends, but if one of them did deserve that title then maybe Kyle was that person.

But really, why are    you back?

You mean you weren't counting the days to my return so we could finally reign over this city together? I'm hurt, Asgeirr. I whined, my lower lip protruded in a pout.  And to think I considered you my partner in crime. Literally. My expression was instantly replaced with a smirk as I appeared on the top of a nearby car, making sure as to not sound the alarm. I remembered the different sorts of mayhem him and I caused the last time I was in this city. I do hope history will find its way to repeat itself now that I have returned.  Of course I was going to return, it's been eight years. Did you think I was just going to abandon you?

I shook my head and lowered myself onto the metal surface, allowing my legs to hang off the edge.  You keep telling yourself that, but you do bring up a very valid point. We're going to be around for quite some time, so we might as well look handsome as hell.

And finally, there was the million dollar question, a question even I was still searching for an answer. I do want to tell my one and only dear friend what the last eight years had in store for me and I fully intended to do so, but when the time was right. Even though I was discharged, part of me still believed they could still be lurking, watching my every move, making sure I don't disclose any of their plans. I needed to be cautious of my future actions, at least until their promise is seen through. What's the rush? We have all eternity to discuss why I have returned, even though we both know it's because I've missed your charming good looks. I exclaimed as I shot up and leaped off the car, stepping towards him and placing my hands on either of his shoulders.  I'm more concerned on why we haven't devoured the entire emergency room right about now.

There were times where it definitely crossed my mind that maybe you would not return. But then it dawned on me that really, who would want to miss me? I chuckled softly, feeling the sting of irony as all those who ever left my life one way or the other, flashed before my eyes. I am part of what made you who you are, Kyle. He was part of a tiny group of people that were still left. So maybe, something inside me, was happy he was back.

Him avoiding the question told me more than his words probably could at this moment. Something was up, and as much as I wanted to know, I wouldn't press further. I trusted that he would tell me someday. Just like I would tell him about Gwyneth, someday. Kyle was like me in so many ways, but in others we were nothing alike. To him humans were food and I had no idea what he would do if he found out.Hmm yes, eternity... I guess you're right. Though I have been showing my good looks to this earth for what feels like an eternity already. I raised an eyebrow.

You know why, Kyle. I moved his arms away and walked a little circle, checking my surroundings before turning back to him. You honestly never really needed me for causing carnage. Though I must warn you that this town is currently filled with hunters. You really don't want them to get on your trail. It's such a hassle to have one of them chasing you everywhere.
