setting
Index was once a small and close-knit community, but the town located on the western side of Washington state has grown in recent years beyond anyone's expectations. It is the ideal place for those who work in Seattle but can't afford the city's high real estate prices, and for others the natural beauty attracts them to the town. And Index truly is a beautiful place - surrounded by thick evergreen trees, tall mountains and glistening rivers and lakes. While weather is typically rainy with overcast skies even this does nothing to take away from the beauty of the town, and it is only highlighted further when the heavy snow graces the town and caps the mountains in winter. To many, Index would seem like a paradise. And yet lurking beneath this visual beauty there is more to this town than anyone might ever imagine...

Current Time in Index, Washington:
rules
PLAYBYS: Sims from the games Sims 2, 3 and 4 are used to visually represent player’s original characters (no characters from within the franchise are allowed). But, you do not need these games to join and roleplay! If you wish, you can post a thread in our out of character / general forum and list as many physical details about your character as you wish. The members of Index will happily try and make a character for you, and you can choose which one you feel best fits your vision.

AVATARS: Avatars should display your characters face clearly and should be at least 200 pixels tall, and 200 pixels wide.

THREADING & POSTING: When threading with multiple characters, it is important that you post only when it is your turn. This can be acheived by taking note of who has posted before you, and remember you are to always post after them. If you were the thread starter, then it is your turn after the final person has joined your thread.

When creating a thread you are required to place a tag before the title. Here are a list of types of thread you can create and how to tag each one:

[Open] Anyone is welcome to join your thread, with no limit on the number of characters.
[Open - #] Anyone is welcome to join your thread, but there is a limit on the number of characters who can join. Replace the # with how many extra characters you will allow to join your thread.
[Private] Only specific characters can join your thread.
[Closed] This tag should be used for threads that only involve your character.

ACTIVITY: To keep threads moving, people are encouraged to post within three days when it is their turn. If you do not post within three days, and you have not asked people to wait for you, it is possible you will be skipped. Keep in mind this is just a suggestion. While we'd love for everyone to be active every day, we understand that real life and other hobbies are just as important, if not more. We want you to be active because you want to be, not because a rule is telling you to be.

MATURITY RATING: Public threads should all be PG. If roleplayers above the age of 18 wish to post content that could be could be considered graphic then it should be hidden from view using the [hide] [/hide] code, which will enable only those in the threads and administrators to view the content.

Thank the universe or whatever you want that she remembered me too. Maybe we'd met before and just not exchanged names or something like that? I met a lot of different people in Seattle and with the band in general. When she started talking about Seattle it started making more sense. I stayed there with some friends for a while. I think I know the place you're talking about. If we were thinking about the same place, I could remember that it changed owners several times, but the guy who did the band booking never changed. His name might've been Don, if my obviously shitty memory was correct. I was just glad that the chick thought that it had good bands, since we'd played there on multiple occasions. I tried to imagine her with purple hair and a vague memory of us having a short conversation about the band or something like that came to mind.

Uh, yeah. Do you remember hearing us play? Our band wasn't exactly, well, popular. I was somewhat pleased to meet someone who'd at least heard of us or even had a very faint memory of having heard us play in such a tiny town like this - even if it was just because she was another person who'd lived in Seattle and coincidentally moved to Index.

I turned around now that my current task was finished and leaned against the shelf, but I didn't put all my weight on it. Contrary to popular belief that thing wasn't bolted down or anything. I'd once stumbled before when I put all my weight on it because I pushed it down the floor a little. Shit, I didn't know if that meant I needed to loose weight or that it was just.. easy to move. Either way, I needed to start walking around the park or something.

I stayed with this chick who called herself Remy sometimes, but that wasn't her real name. Okay, I'm awkward as fuck. The leaning wasn't really working for me, so I stood back up and shoved my thumbs in my pockets.

Um, I'm pretty sure I do, but.. what kind of music did you play? Alternative? Metal? Punk? I remembered a few punk bands that everyone seemed to love but maybe I just wasn't hardcore enough. I never went when they played. There was one, and I don't know how the hell they got their name, but they were called "Dried Hibiscus". Either a weirdly specific memory or they just didn't give two shits about their band name. What was the name of the band? Or were you in a few? I knew sometimes Remy filled in with bass for a few of the local bands when needed. Damn, this was really making me start to miss the scene. Even though it was short lived for me, they did feel like a little family.

I stood with my hands in my pockets, shifting my weight every so often. I was standing next to a table of T-shirts featuring some cheesy cartoon instruments or various logos of the brands the store carried. I guess it was nice for those people who wanted to dress like their guitars - not that I could judge, since my outfits were usually whatever was clean and a pair of docs.

I pushed my hair away from my face and tried to think if I remembered a Remy. One of the guys might've dated her. Or was that a Ronnie? She play bass? That was all I'd known about the chick Sean dated - if I ever heard of a Remy this would be the one. I think I might remember you, but uh... remind me your name again? I said. To be fair, I'd never been great at remembering names.

Alternative I said, although I kinda always had this secret fantasy where I became a guitarist for a metal band and I was really hardcore and played sweet riffs all the day long. Just one - Peak. We'd argued over names for a long time. It was funny how we could pretty easily get together and just pump out ideas for the music, but when it came to the name no one could really decide. The Peak was supposed to be symbolic of climbing a mountain and we all liked the idea so we just stuck with it.

Holy fuck, yeah! That's her! I covered my mouth as I noticed a dirty look from a woman in a corner. Wasn't it funny that I almost like... never got dirty looks from dudes when I swore? Why did women have sticks up their ass about that shit? Oh, yeah, sorry, I'm always forgetting to introduce myself. I'm Michelle, and you? And again I was relieved I wasn't the only one with a foggy memory.

Oh, yeah, I've seen you guys. Dude, I'm pretty happy to run into you. So you guys all here? Going to spruce up the music scene here? That would be pretty awesome. There was some talent you could find at Open Mic Nite, and I'd heard that sometimes bands played at One Shot, but I hadn't really ventured there. I'd have to ask Vin about it, because I hadn't really heard anything else about that scene.

Where you guys playing next? Maybe I should come watch. It's been too long since I've done something like that. Maybe I could bring Gabe, but fuck he was kinda critical about music that wasn't exactly to his taste.

I tried to think what exactly had gone down between her and Sean. Either they dated briefly or they slept together and he decided she was his dream girl until he met the next one. Poor Sean sometimes got caught up in his relationships. I didn't meet her, but one of the guys might've dated her or something? I said with a shrug. It wasn't super important, since Sean had probably forgotten about her by now.

I'm Dan It was pretty cool to meet someone from Seattle all the way out in Index. When I'd signed the lease on my new place I was afraid we'd end up having all our gigs in Seattle and not a lot in Index, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. A few venues featured live music like the kind we played, and people like Michelle were also here to keep it going. We're kinda in a transition period right now, but we're hoping to do some stuff in Index, yeah.

I considered her question. It'd be awesome to get some people to come out and see us. One Shot? Have you heard of it? A friend of mine has a sister who is a bartender there so she hooked us up. I shrugged. I was new enough I wasn't completely in the know about what type of place it was but it had sounded like a good deal.
