setting
Index was once a small and close-knit community, but the town located on the western side of Washington state has grown in recent years beyond anyone's expectations. It is the ideal place for those who work in Seattle but can't afford the city's high real estate prices, and for others the natural beauty attracts them to the town. And Index truly is a beautiful place - surrounded by thick evergreen trees, tall mountains and glistening rivers and lakes. While weather is typically rainy with overcast skies even this does nothing to take away from the beauty of the town, and it is only highlighted further when the heavy snow graces the town and caps the mountains in winter. To many, Index would seem like a paradise. And yet lurking beneath this visual beauty there is more to this town than anyone might ever imagine...

Current Time in Index, Washington:
rules
PLAYBYS: Sims from the games Sims 2, 3 and 4 are used to visually represent player’s original characters (no characters from within the franchise are allowed). But, you do not need these games to join and roleplay! If you wish, you can post a thread in our out of character / general forum and list as many physical details about your character as you wish. The members of Index will happily try and make a character for you, and you can choose which one you feel best fits your vision.

AVATARS: Avatars should display your characters face clearly and should be at least 200 pixels tall, and 200 pixels wide.

THREADING & POSTING: When threading with multiple characters, it is important that you post only when it is your turn. This can be acheived by taking note of who has posted before you, and remember you are to always post after them. If you were the thread starter, then it is your turn after the final person has joined your thread.

When creating a thread you are required to place a tag before the title. Here are a list of types of thread you can create and how to tag each one:

[Open] Anyone is welcome to join your thread, with no limit on the number of characters.
[Open - #] Anyone is welcome to join your thread, but there is a limit on the number of characters who can join. Replace the # with how many extra characters you will allow to join your thread.
[Private] Only specific characters can join your thread.
[Closed] This tag should be used for threads that only involve your character.

ACTIVITY: To keep threads moving, people are encouraged to post within three days when it is their turn. If you do not post within three days, and you have not asked people to wait for you, it is possible you will be skipped. Keep in mind this is just a suggestion. While we'd love for everyone to be active every day, we understand that real life and other hobbies are just as important, if not more. We want you to be active because you want to be, not because a rule is telling you to be.

MATURITY RATING: Public threads should all be PG. If roleplayers above the age of 18 wish to post content that could be could be considered graphic then it should be hidden from view using the [hide] [/hide] code, which will enable only those in the threads and administrators to view the content.

No, no. I am sure if I tried I would only end up making a fool of myself. Jokes she played always seemed to have that effect. Instead of the proverbial bucket of water landing on her brother’s head it would land on hers instead. If she put a whoopee cushion on one chair the universe would end up putting it on the chair she sat on.

By her glances toward my shoes, at least I assumed she was looking at my shoes, I could tell she was wondering why I wore such nice shoes out walking. Well you must wear good shoes everywhere. But of course I wasn't going to tell her that. Surely she thought her own combat boots were nice, but they fit well with the rest of her outfit that seemed to be falling apart. I had seen many people with the same grungy style, it was in style now, but it most certainly was not my style. My style was to look like I had money, but with most new looks they could have been bought at the Dollar Store or from the highest priced designer in the world. Fashion was a statement and my statement wasn't going to be ‘maybe’.

From the short time I had spent in Index there were a few important things I had learned about her people. They were extreme. Whether it be in kindness or meanness or any emotion, activity, something, each one had their extreme. Even the most kind or the social butterfly had their share of secrets. In simple conversations there was always a simple subjects each person would stub up on. The more average looking on the outside the more secretive the person. Index was indeed a strange place to be. Though most of my life had been spent in cities with the rich and weird, nothing came close to this small town. When my father would speak to me about his latest paranormal endeavor there would always be a chill up my spine but now I had a permanent chill that she shroud of normality, covering up the unknown, gave me. This girl, though she looked normal in most aspects (above par in attractiveness) certainly had secrets like the rest. Secrets I wanted to know. So I smiled. Would you? That would be great, thank you. I offered her my hand. My name is Lucrecia.

Hell, if she could admit she sucked at something then she couldn't be like overly awful or anything. Even if she was it didn't really matter because I could just get the fuck outta there if she started pissing me off. Just because we'd spoken didn't leave me with some fucking obligation to continue it. That was something I saw people do the whole fucking time, talk to people when they didn't actually want to. I didn't get it. I didn't get all the goddamn pretense with blunt and brutal honest would be so much better.

Good, just checking. At least I know now that if you did try anything I wouldn't even need to get you back. Sounds like you'd take care of that part for me. I joked, slightly amusing at the idea of her being like the anti-prankster or something. My personal favorite prank was the one where you put saran wrap over the bowl of a toilet seat and then put the lid down. I hadn't actually done it to anyone but it'd happened back in my highschool like every year. Not even always on April Fool's. The memory of janitors freaking the fuck out was still hilarious to me.

As weird as it was I hadn't expected her to say thank you. I mean that was probably because I spent most of my time with rude assholes who wouldn't known gratitude if it steamrolled over them but... I actually preferred the bad manners. Her thanks just made me feel uncomfortable, like anyone else's would. Don't sweat it, I was done here anyway. I said, trying to brush off her gratitude. I closed my sketchpad and stuff it and the pencil back into my sportsbag, slinging it over my shoulder and rising to my feet. I frowned at her name, forgetting how to even pronounce it like a second after she'd said it. I'm Peyton. I paused and stepped around her, pointing in the direction we'd be heading. It's this way, c'mon. I started forward, slowing my usual stride so that she could keep up in her ridiculous shoes. So do you camp a lot? She sure as hell didn't look like she was so I wondered what her interest was.
