setting
Index was once a small and close-knit community, but the town located on the western side of Washington state has grown in recent years beyond anyone's expectations. It is the ideal place for those who work in Seattle but can't afford the city's high real estate prices, and for others the natural beauty attracts them to the town. And Index truly is a beautiful place - surrounded by thick evergreen trees, tall mountains and glistening rivers and lakes. While weather is typically rainy with overcast skies even this does nothing to take away from the beauty of the town, and it is only highlighted further when the heavy snow graces the town and caps the mountains in winter. To many, Index would seem like a paradise. And yet lurking beneath this visual beauty there is more to this town than anyone might ever imagine...

Current Time in Index, Washington:
rules
PLAYBYS: Sims from the games Sims 2, 3 and 4 are used to visually represent player’s original characters (no characters from within the franchise are allowed). But, you do not need these games to join and roleplay! If you wish, you can post a thread in our out of character / general forum and list as many physical details about your character as you wish. The members of Index will happily try and make a character for you, and you can choose which one you feel best fits your vision.

AVATARS: Avatars should display your characters face clearly and should be at least 200 pixels tall, and 200 pixels wide.

THREADING & POSTING: When threading with multiple characters, it is important that you post only when it is your turn. This can be acheived by taking note of who has posted before you, and remember you are to always post after them. If you were the thread starter, then it is your turn after the final person has joined your thread.

When creating a thread you are required to place a tag before the title. Here are a list of types of thread you can create and how to tag each one:

[Open] Anyone is welcome to join your thread, with no limit on the number of characters.
[Open - #] Anyone is welcome to join your thread, but there is a limit on the number of characters who can join. Replace the # with how many extra characters you will allow to join your thread.
[Private] Only specific characters can join your thread.
[Closed] This tag should be used for threads that only involve your character.

ACTIVITY: To keep threads moving, people are encouraged to post within three days when it is their turn. If you do not post within three days, and you have not asked people to wait for you, it is possible you will be skipped. Keep in mind this is just a suggestion. While we'd love for everyone to be active every day, we understand that real life and other hobbies are just as important, if not more. We want you to be active because you want to be, not because a rule is telling you to be.

MATURITY RATING: Public threads should all be PG. If roleplayers above the age of 18 wish to post content that could be could be considered graphic then it should be hidden from view using the [hide] [/hide] code, which will enable only those in the threads and administrators to view the content.

Of course. I laughed. Way to be stereotypical, Ru.  I'm not your typical cat lady. I shook my head at him and rolled my eyes playfully. I'm not shocked he would assume I'd like cats. I don't necessarily have a problem with cats, I've just had a very horrific experience with the neighbor's cat when I was little. Just the thought of it makes me scrunch my nose.  You're right. You'd obviously miss me too much. I twirled a strand of hair around my index finger as I skipped ahead slightly.

I followed his gaze and nodded.  Well it's settled then. Let's just get this over with. I bent down and extended my arms to grab, by far, the largest stone out I've ever seen. I counted to three in my mind and tugged on the stone, but it didn't even budge from the ground. I exhaled loudly and didn't even bother to look up at Ru who probably had to biggest grin on his face. I was determined to lift this stone at least an inch off the ground. I re-positioned myself and took in a deep breath, closing my eyes and searching the core of my strengths. But just as I was about to pull once more, a strange-heightened sensation washed over me and I pried the stone from the ground as if I was lifting a feather, unfortunately this unknown strength was such a surprise I ended up launching the stone about fifteen feet over my head and I fell straight on my ass. My eyes practically bulged out of face. I knew a sort of my strengths were heightened, but nothing this extreme. A part of me couldn't help but to feel fucking terrified of what I could do and still not knowing why.

I think I could use that piggyback ride now. I looked up at Ru, giggling slightly as the corners of my lips turn upward into a small grin.

Quote Begin Obviously.Quote End I grinned back, watching Sof go over to the rocks and chuckling. Of course she didn't pick up one of the small stones - no, she went for one that was so big, there was no way she'd be able to pick it up. I doubted I'd be able to lift it, let alone pick the thing up. Maybe only some of the serious lifters at the gym would be able to.

Which was even more reason why my face fell ashen when Sof not only picked the rock, but flung it maybe a dozen feet up in the air. It was crazy. Surreal. It flew up and off into the trees, disappearing from sight.

I turned to Sof, who was giggling. Quote Begin Forget a pigyyback. What the hell was that?Quote End I asked, a mixture of shock and disbelief. There was no way anyone could hurl a rock up into the air like that, and yet I'd just seen it happen before my eyes. I eyed Sof carefully, almost a little fearful before breaking into an uneasy grin. Quote Begin That was a joke, right? Some elaborate prank, shit Sof, I nearly had a heart attack that was so weird!Quote End I nudged her side, Quote Begin There's more to the shy bookworm than meets the eye, huh?Quote End

I brushed the dirt off my jeans as I nervously await a response from Ru. I don't know if he'll just assume I was joking, which I could easily play off, or if he'll freak; I wouldn't blame him. But what I hate most is that I don't have a single explanation for what I just did, sure I have a clue that it involves my heightened senses, but he would probably think I was delusional if I tried to explain it.

The tone of his voice wasn't hiding anything, he was shocked beyond belief and I don't blame him. But it did cause me to become a bit uneasy, which was the last thing I wanted to feel. I needed to distract his mind so I decided to just play it off as a practical joke. That was clearly evidence that I am the hulk...Or that I just pranked you so good.  I pressed my index finger into his chest and smirked.  Of course it was a joke Ru! Did you really think I, the girl who has absolutely no athletic ability, launched a heavy ass stone across the forest?  I laughed at the irony that covered my sentence. It was truly ironic.

I grinned up at him when he nudges my side.  I guess so. I tread behind Ru a bit, just to give myself a good enough boost to jump onto the his back. His husk scent fills my nostrils as I loosely wrapped my arms around his neck. I still want my piggy back ride.

I shook my head and continued laughing when she confirmed it - a prank. Quote Begin How long had you been planning that? Shit, Sof, you've got waay too much time on your hands. You could've used that time to actually work out and get closer to lifting something that heavy instead, y'know?Quote End I grinned at her. I did think Sof could do with a bit more exercise, which had been one of the reasons for the hiking trip in the first place, but I also wouldn't miss an opportunity to tease her about it.

Fortunately it was pretty obvious what Sof was doing and I expected the added weight on my back, taking it in my stride. I hooked my arms round her legs rather than holding them so I still had my hands free, and jostled her up a bit too so it felt less like she was going to fall off. Quote Begin Fine, you still get your piggy back ride. But I'm taking you to the gym one of these days to start your training so you can return the favour.Quote End I chuckled to myself and started walking up the trail, actually enjoying the extra weight as an opportunity to train myself, and obviously as a challenge. Strands of Sof's hair kept tickling my neck but it just made me smile. One foot in front of the other with the beautiful scenery around us, we started making our way through the trail and towards home.
