setting
Index was once a small and close-knit community, but the town located on the western side of Washington state has grown in recent years beyond anyone's expectations. It is the ideal place for those who work in Seattle but can't afford the city's high real estate prices, and for others the natural beauty attracts them to the town. And Index truly is a beautiful place - surrounded by thick evergreen trees, tall mountains and glistening rivers and lakes. While weather is typically rainy with overcast skies even this does nothing to take away from the beauty of the town, and it is only highlighted further when the heavy snow graces the town and caps the mountains in winter. To many, Index would seem like a paradise. And yet lurking beneath this visual beauty there is more to this town than anyone might ever imagine...

Current Time in Index, Washington:
rules
PLAYBYS: Sims from the games Sims 2, 3 and 4 are used to visually represent player’s original characters (no characters from within the franchise are allowed). But, you do not need these games to join and roleplay! If you wish, you can post a thread in our out of character / general forum and list as many physical details about your character as you wish. The members of Index will happily try and make a character for you, and you can choose which one you feel best fits your vision.

AVATARS: Avatars should display your characters face clearly and should be at least 200 pixels tall, and 200 pixels wide.

THREADING & POSTING: When threading with multiple characters, it is important that you post only when it is your turn. This can be acheived by taking note of who has posted before you, and remember you are to always post after them. If you were the thread starter, then it is your turn after the final person has joined your thread.

When creating a thread you are required to place a tag before the title. Here are a list of types of thread you can create and how to tag each one:

[Open] Anyone is welcome to join your thread, with no limit on the number of characters.
[Open - #] Anyone is welcome to join your thread, but there is a limit on the number of characters who can join. Replace the # with how many extra characters you will allow to join your thread.
[Private] Only specific characters can join your thread.
[Closed] This tag should be used for threads that only involve your character.

ACTIVITY: To keep threads moving, people are encouraged to post within three days when it is their turn. If you do not post within three days, and you have not asked people to wait for you, it is possible you will be skipped. Keep in mind this is just a suggestion. While we'd love for everyone to be active every day, we understand that real life and other hobbies are just as important, if not more. We want you to be active because you want to be, not because a rule is telling you to be.

MATURITY RATING: Public threads should all be PG. If roleplayers above the age of 18 wish to post content that could be could be considered graphic then it should be hidden from view using the [hide] [/hide] code, which will enable only those in the threads and administrators to view the content.

How to Register & Apply Step 5
Wait, applications can take anywhere from a couple of minutes to a couple of hours to be accepted, depending on whether or not an administrator is online when your post it. While you wait for your application to be accepted, it is highly suggested that you follow the below steps to prepare your character for threading on the forum. The below steps are not required to be filled out immediately, but they are required to be filled out before you begin role playing on the forum.

!!! Before beginning the following steps, log out of your out of character account, and log into your character account. !!!

a) Visit your profile and upload an avatar for your character. Uploaded images must be exactly /or/ larger than 200 pixels wide, and 200 pixels tall.

b) Visit your profile and fill out your characters basic information. This information can be viewed when you, or other members click your characters name on the forum.

This field should be filled out for both in character and out of character accounts, and no matter which account you're signed into, your answer will represent you as a member of Index, out of character.

This image will display above every post you make on the forum. It can be anything you like (pornographic images are strictly prohibited), but it is of vital importance that the image you choose is cropped to precisely 1024 pixels wide, and 244 pixels tall.

If your image does not meet the size requirements, it will be removed, and you will be given a warning. This rule is strict because larger or smaller images will break the threads.

If you decide not to link an image, a default image will display for you instead. But if you do decide to link an image, it is highly recommended that you use Servimg or Imgur to host your file.

Banner images are required. So unless you are linking your own, under no circumstances are you allowed to remove the default image.

Where your character works, and where your character is from is entirely up to you, but in the residence field you have five options. These options are:

Cedar Grove, West Elkton, Northbrook, Owl Heights, or Oakwood. These five districts make up the town of Index, and each one is unique and offers something different. It is very important that you click the above links and read about each of these districts before deciding, as a person that works for minimum wage wouldn't be able to afford to live in Owl Heights for example.

This is a place for you to share basic physical attributes about your character. Most people don't visit a users member page before threading with them, and instead use the forums popup profile [The information you're currently reading about] to get a feel for what said character is like. Please avoid using this as a place to share every single detail about your character. Keep it simple, short, and sweet, as your member page is where you are meant to delve into descriptions and go into detail. If you play a wolf, use this field to include your wolf's wolf name! Below, I've included a code that you can copy/paste to cover the basics:

You can also include links in this field by using the following code:

The played by section should only be filled out for character accounts, and should display your out of character username exactly as you registered it.

It is important that you copy the URL to your member page and paste it in the member page field so people can have quick access to it from anywhere on the forum.

c) If you really want to be a part of the community then it's suggested that you include your real email address within the first part of your application so you can receive an invitation to our chat group on Slack. If you don't feel comfortable sharing your email address with the public, you can use the [hide]YOUREMAILHERE[/hide] tags, which will hide your email from everyone except yourself, and the administrator. Once you have received your invitation, and you have successfully joined our chat group, you are free to delete this from your application/member page.

You're done!
Once you have completed everything above, you are truly done with the registration and integration process here at Index Sims Role Play. You are free to add as much information to your member page as you desire, but the application information is required, so please don't remove it. You will be granted your own special forum shortly after being accepted. Welcome to Index Sims Role Play, I hope you enjoy your stay!
